She was the first baby to be born on Canada’s first Centennial Day which was a year long celebration held in 1967 when Canada celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation. Her family then went on and moved to the town of Comox.
She Graduated from Highland Secondary School in 1985 and in 1988 she moved to Vancouver where she worked as a fitness instructor in a new and busy city lifestyle.
It was during the summer of 89’ that Anderson got what was to be her big break, attending a Canadian football game, the camera picked up on her in the audience and showed her on screen, she was later brought on to the field where she got a standing ovation from the crowd. She had been wearing a Labatt’s beer company T-shirt and was later offered a modelling deal by them. This put her on posters in pubs all over the city, realising that this could be her shot at fame she posed for Playboy Magazine in 1989 credited as Pamela Anderson Ilicic and promptly moved to LA to continue her career as a model.
Upon reaching LA Pamela Anderson made the decision to dye her hair blonde and get her breast implants hoping that this would help her career further and get her noticed. It certainly seemed to work when she was offered a minor role in TV’s ‘Home Improvement’ in 1991.
From there she then got the role that she is most recognised for; playing CJ Parker on Baywatch from 1992-1997 wearing that famous Red Swimsuit.
She also continued to model for playboy during this time, keeping her profile high and winning herself a loyal fan base.

Pamela hosted Saturday Night Live in 1997 and appeared on two covers for the September issue of Playboy.
By September 2002 she had created her own produced series called VIP which again was not well received but loyal fans eagerness to watch anything featuring Pamela Anderson tuned in, keeping it afloat for four seasons, eventually being cancelled in 2002.
On April 15th 1999 she removed her breast implants and announced she needed a break from the modelling work and wanted to focus on her family life more. In March 2002 she was back in the headlines again after announcing that she had contracted the virus Hepatitis C from her ex boyfriend Tommy Lee (Who denies having the disease)
She also began to write a column for ‘Jane’ magazine.
In 2004 Pamela Anderson made a comeback into the entertainment world, posing again for playboy’s front cover naked for the first time.

And in March 2006, Anderson was awarded a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame in recognition of her work as a model and an actress, being only the second model to receive this honour. In April, she also hosted Canada’s Juno Awards becoming the first non singer and model to do so.
